Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing a variety of analytical and technical assignments that provide for problem diagnosis, solutions documentation, implementation and maintenance of a variety of hardware, software and network products in addition to deploying new infrastructure services within ASC.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Policies & Procedures
§ Implement the Network Support Department’s set policies and procedures and comply with ASC’s other policies.
Infrastructure Support Activities
- Design, implement, monitor and maintain infrastructure software platforms, including but not limited to servers, operating systems, database services and all other software based systems to ensure stable operation of ASC’s infrastructure.
- Develop operational installations, configuration and upgrade documentation for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, software and other computer related systems.
- Support all infrastructure hardware, network and storage configuration, data center operations and infrastructure software including but not limited to MS data center, MS exchange, VMS Cloud, Backup and shared services.
- Diagnose / resolve issues on the virtual and physical servers within a datacenter environment.
- Evaluate infrastructure services equipment and software as well as recommends new configurations and communicate it to the direct manager.
- Recommend system developments and upgrades to existing systems.
- Amend system records to reflect changes in the environment, such as decommissioning a system, asset or component and replacing with new components.
- Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.
Server Support Activities
- Provides on site or remote access diagnoses and resolution of computer hardware and software problems.
- Provide subject matter expertise, advice and consultancy regarding assigned technology and infrastructure systems.
- Provide ongoing technical support with regards to ASC’s latest infrastructure support services.
- Serve as a liaison between other technical staff, management, users, and vendors regarding service requests, usage, standards, security, and other technical matters.
- Maintain effective relationships with department members and system users.
Reports
§ Prepare and submit progress reports to the direct manager pertaining to incidents and reports related to the areas which require attention as required.
